Academic Engagement and Learning designs and delivers instruction, consultation and outreach services that build critical inquiry skills and digital fluency through meaningful and sustainable engagement with students, faculty, researchers, and campus partners.
Access and Delivery Services
The access and delivery services department manages lending of library materials, including delivering materials through interlibrary loan, document delivery and shipping services, and ensures building, collection and user safety.
Archives and Special Collections
Home to the library’s rare books and pamphlets, manuscript collections, photographs, the University Archives and the Map Collection.
Collection Strategies
The collection strategies department builds, manages and assesses the library’s research collections using evidence-based practices.
Communications and External Relations
The communications team manages the library’s brand, website content, graphic design, materials, media and lobby digital signs, and supports outreach and events.
Content Support Services
The content support services department acquires, catalogs and maintains the library’s resources.
DataLab: Data Science and Informatics
DataLab promotes, fosters and facilitates data science activities, training and research to accelerate discovery and improve student and researcher success.
Development
The library’s development team partners with donors find where their passion intersects with the library’s strategic initiatives and our mission to support student academic success and research excellence at UC Davis.
Finance
The library’s finance team receives and disburses funds and oversees payroll.
Food and Drink Collections
The team develops and preserves world-class research collections while supporting seamless access to unique materials that advance UC Davis’ excellence in food, agriculture, wine, beer, spirits, tea, and coffee.
Human Resources
The human resources team provides services relating to recruitment, classification, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
IT Infrastructure Services
The ITIS department provides and supports desktop and library enterprise-level systems, and server infrastructure for library applications and data.
Library Administration
The library’s leadership team creates and oversees the library’s strategic vision and operations.
Management and Building Support
The management and building support department provides administrative, facilities and mail room support.
Online Strategy
The online strategy team provides innovative technology frameworks to access, manage, facilitate and inspire creative use of the library’s data in support of UC Davis’ research and community goals.
Research and Health Sciences
Research and Health Sciences provides specialized research guidance to faculty, graduate students and other researchers across UC Davis and UC Davis Health. The department supports One Health education and clinical scholarship, and operates Blaisdell Medical Library.
Scholarly Communication
Leads initiatives to improve the sustainability, access, and reach of scholarship at UC Davis and beyond, including expertise in open access publishing and copyright.
Scholarly Resources
Scholarly Resources is responsible for purchasing, licensing, maintaining and providing access to library collections, including physical and digital information resources.
