World AIDS Day: Resources for Understanding
In 1988, December 1 was designated as World AIDS Day, and it continues to mark international efforts to raise awareness of the worldwide AIDS pandemic and mourning those lost to the disease. This year’s World AIDS Day theme is “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response,” calling for sustained political leadership, international cooperation, and human-rights-centered approaches to end AIDS by 2030.
