Shields Library is closed through January 1. Requests for books, digitization services, and interlibrary loan will be fulfilled after the new year.
Returning Library Books During the COVID-19 Temporary Closure
Have you been wondering if it’s OK to return books to the Library? Yes, it is! In fact, you have several options if you want to return books you no longer need, including mailing materials to the Library:
- Walk-up book drops are located near the front doors of Shields Library and the Carlson Health Sciences Library (Davis) as well as near the entrance of the Blaisdell Medical Library on the UC Davis Medical Center campus (Sacramento).
- Drive-up book drops are located along the perimeter of UC Davis campus.
- FedEx mail service is available at no-cost. If you would like to mail material back to the library, please contact the library with the number of items being returned and an estimated weight. Library staff will reply with a postage-paid mailing label that you may use to return the material. You only need to supply your own shipping materials.
And as a reminder, if you want to keep the books you have checked out, due dates will continue to be extended.
