Read UC Davis Library E-books on Mobile Devices with The Palace Project App

Share your experience using The Palace app!

The UC Davis Library is pleased to announce that UC Davis students, faculty, researchers and staff can now access e-books from the library’s catalog on their mobile devices with The Palace Project app, an e-reader for iOS and Android phones and tablets.

Through a two-year pilot program, members of the UC Davis and UC Davis Health communities can use the app to read more than 122,000 licensed e-books and reference works from major publishers on their mobile devices using their UC Davis login.

Get started

First, download The Palace Project app from the App Store or Google Play and launch the app. Tap “Find Your Library,” enter “University of California, Davis Library” into the search bar and tap our library when the option appears. Log in with your UC Davis login credentials and start reading! You can also check the UC Davis Library catalog to see if a specific book is available in the Palace app.

The app includes an interactive table of contents that allows you to preview chapters and jump to a specific chapter. Use the “Bookmarks” feature to jump to different locations in a book.

Through Palace, UC Davis readers can also access the California State Library e-book collection, which includes a large number of audiobooks. If you have a library card with the Yolo County Library or Sacramento Public Library, you can access their e-book collections in the Palace app, too.

Seeking user testing participants

As part of this pilot, we are seeking participants for user testing this summer. Please complete our user test interest form if you’d be willing to share your experience using The Palace Project app. All participants will receive a small gift card for their time.

Questions about The Palace Project pilot may be directed to palacepilot@ucdavis.edu.
