Meet the Library’s Undergraduate Interns
Inaugual cohort gains professional experience while enhancing library services
The library is pleased to introduce four extraordinary undergraduate students joining the library as paid interns for the 2025-2026 academic year:
- Anette Dabkowski (major: managerial economics) will be working with Library Administration on projects that advance the library’s strategic priorities.
- Chelsea Momoh (major: statistics) will be assisting with projects that support the library’s Scholarly Impact Service.
- Holden Tal (major: sustainable environmental design) will be working with DataLab on projects that analyze and visualize data through maps.
- Rayan Mansoor (major: computer engineering) will be based in the Student Services Department, working with librarians to design e-learning content related to Generative AI.
Helping Shape the Future of the Library
Made possible by generous donor support, this new program will empower our interns to lead meaningful projects. They will help shape the future of the library, ranging from analyzing and visualizing data and measuring scholarly research impact, to designing e-learning content and advancing library strategic initiatives. Their efforts will produce real outputs like reports, visualizations and instructional content that enhance library services for the broader UC Davis academic community.
The interns will also engage in weekly cohort activities that deepen their learning and broaden their experience. Through mentorship, collaborative learning and reflection, they will develop skills that will prepare them for graduate studies, professional careers and future leadership roles.
Supporting Undergraduate Student Success
Support Student Internships at the Library
The library intern program, funded by philanthropy and led by Melissa Browne and Alesia McManus in the Student Services Department, aligns with the library’s Strategic Plan: Priority 2, Goal 2.5, to support undergraduate student success. As the program grows, so will its impact, creating more opportunities for students to gain real-world experience while advancing the library’s mission.
We look forward to sharing the interns’ progress with you in the months ahead and continuing to build on the generosity that makes programs like this possible.
