Celebrating Archives Month
Explore our collections, careers and more this October
Archives and Special Collections is excited to celebrate American Archives Month with several different activities which highlight our rare and unique materials as well as our work in archives.
Starting with our ABCs
Our festivities kick off today and we’re starting with the basics, our ABCs. We were inspired by the UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions recent Instagram series, ABCs of UCD, so we decided to create our own ABCs of Archives and Special Collections. Follow along on the library’s Instagram as we present items from our collection related to each letter of the alphabet.
Sacramento Archives Crawl
On Saturday, October 7, our staff will be participating in the 13th annual Sacramento Archives Crawl from 10am-4pm. Stop by our table at the California State Library where we will be displaying items related to this year’s theme, “Myth, Folklore & Legend.”
Visit Us
As always, please visit us in the Archives and Special Collections Reading Room (located on the first floor of Shields Library) during our open hours of 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm Monday-Friday. We love to chat about our careers, the items in our collection, and how those primary source materials are available for use in classes and research.
