Earlier this summer the Library launched Aggie Experts, a UC Davis expertise discovery platform developed to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, provide a coherent picture of the research being done at the university, and reduce administrative workload for faculty.
Thanks to a collaborative effort between the Library, Academic Affairs, and Information and Educational Technology (IET), new functionality is now available that enables Academic Senate faculty to import their Aggie Experts grant information into MyInfoVault (MIV). By taking advantage of the data automatically populated in Aggie Experts, the new feature reduces the need for manual input of grants information.
The capability to import grants into MIV from Aggie Experts is designed to save faculty time by providing data import infrastructure — in three simple clicks — as an alternative to what was previously a manual data entry process.
“Academic Affairs remains committed to implementing new functionality in the future to make MIV even easier and more efficient for our academic community to use,” said Vice Provost of Academic Affairs Philip Kass.
How to Import Your Grants into MIV
Faculty or their delegates can access this functionality by logging into MIV and selecting “Import Grants and Contracts” under “Enter Data.” The wizard will guide you through the necessary steps.
Please note:
- Data can only be transferred from Aggie Experts to MIV in order to maintain privacy of any existing MIV content.
- We strongly recommend that you double-check all fields, particularly monetary amounts, as you import your data.
Please let us know how this integration is working for you.
“We’re excited to partner with IET and Academic Affairs to implement this new feature,” said University Librarian and Vice Provost of Digital Scholarship William Garrity, “and it won’t be the last. Our team is committed to continuing to develop the Aggie Experts platform to meet the varied needs of researchers and units across campus.”
