Russ Kramer is president of Hacienda La Minita, the green trading division of Distant Lands Coffee. La Minita has been growing and milling coffee in Costa Rica since 1968. Kramer has been part of the specialty coffee industry since 1983, first working at Green Mountain Coffee in Waterbury, Vermont; he then joined the Coffee Connection in Boston, Massachusetts. He has also served on the Specialty Coffee Association of America's (SCAA) Environmental Committee and the Coffee Advisory Board of Dunkin' Donuts. Kramer’s work focuses on building relationships with growers and advancing traceability and quality within the global coffee trade. This collection offers insight into the evolution of sourcing practices and the growing emphasis on sustainability, transparency, and quality. Materials include industry records on creating coffee programs for companies like Panera Bread, McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Alberston’s/Safeway; email correspondence; trade literature; photographs; and coffee realia and ephemera.
