Happy National Medical Librarians Month!
Celebrating the expertise, insight and impact of our health sciences librarians
October is National Medical Librarians Month, which gives us an opportunity to recognize our health sciences librarians at Blaisdell Medical Library on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento and at Shields Library in Davis.
As healthcare and information environments continue to evolve rapidly, clinicians, researchers, educators, and students rely on our health sciences librarians as a trusted source for guidance, evidence and support. They play a vital role in advancing research, supporting patient care (human and animal!), and strengthening education and training. Learn more about our health sciences librarian team below.
We’re also celebrating Blaisdell Medical Library’s 20th anniversary with exhibits at both Blaisdell and Shields Library locations — drop by and check them out!

Areas of Expertise: Clinical Questions, Evidence Synthesis, One Health, Tea Research, Veterinary Medicine
Research Tip: Look for evidence synthesis like clinical guidelines and systematic reviews, first. If only primary research exists when looking at treatments, use the EBVMA QUIT Tool.
Personal Fun Fact: I love tea and pickleball. I’m happy to just chat about your research over one of my great selections of tea.
Areas of Expertise: AI Literacy, Evidence Synthesis, Literature Reviews, Scholarly Projects, Self-Directed Learning
Research Tip: Don’t be afraid to reach out to a librarian for support.

Personal Fun Fact: I’ve never lost a fight against a grizzly bear.

Research Tip: The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine can be a great workaround for broken links and recovering lost content.
Personal Fun Fact: I have visited 45 out of 63 U.S. national parks.
