New OA journal Glossa Psycholinguistics launched

Glossa Psycholinguistics, a new open access journal, has been launched on the University of California’s platform eScholarship. The journal will specialize in publishing research at the intersection of theoretical linguistics and experimental methodologies.

“The field of psycholinguistics has long recognized the need for a scientifically credible open access publishing outlet grounded in the values of accessibility and transparency and representing the scientific expertise of the community,” explains co-editor-in-chief Fernanda Ferreira, professor in the UC Davis Department of Psychology. Glossa Psycholinguistics is a spinoff of Glossa: a journal of general linguistics, where many of the psycholinguistics papers have been published previously.

In accordance with principles of Fair Open Access, Glossa Psycholinguistics is asking authors who have research funding to cover a $500 article processing charge (APC), while authors without access to such funding may publish without APC. To ensure sustainability of the new open access journal, the UC Davis Library (as well as several other libraries in the U.S., U.K., and Germany) has supported the project with initial funding, in line with our commitment to open access publishing in different forms.
