UC Davis Library Signs Open Access Publishing Agreement with Frontiers Journal
Through a new UC Davis Library membership agreement with open access journal publisher, Frontiers, authors who publish in any of Frontier’s open access journals will enjoy a 7.5% discount on article processing charges (APCs) through the end of 2019. The library plans to negotiate a 10% discount for authors starting in 2020.
The discount will automatically be applied if UC Davis-affiliated corresponding authors submit manuscripts using their @ucdavis.edu email address. If authors submit via another email domain, but indicate UC Davis affiliation on paper, Frontiers will verify discount eligibility with the UC Davis Library.
This agreement is anticipated to further promote open access publishing by UC Davis authors, increasing the visibility of and accessibility to research — most of which is publicly funded — for students, fellow researchers and the public at large, while reducing costs.
