The library began moving books out of the under-construction first floor and lower level of the Physical Sciences and Engineering Library on November 6, 2019.

Remaining Physical Sciences and Engineering Collection to be Moved

After consulting with the faculty via the Senate Library Committee, the library has consented to campus’ request to remove the remaining collections from the first floor and lower level of the Physical Sciences and Engineering Library (PSEL) so that unforeseen construction, inspection and permitting issues can be addressed.

The relevant parts of the collection will be permanently relocated to Shields to be reunited with the materials previously moved out of the second and third floors of PSEL. Other content will be transferred to the UC’s Northern Regional Library Facility (requests for materials from NRLF are typically fulfilled within two working days) or, if a copy is already held at NRLF, these duplicate materials will be donated to Better World Books. For the short term, materials are being transferred to the Carlson Health Sciences Library for sorting and processing, before reaching their ultimate destinations.

For questions about access to the collections during this transition, please contact Rice Majors, Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Resources.
