Introducing the Library’s 2026-27 Undergraduate Interns
Gaining real-world experience while advancing the library’s mission
The library is pleased to introduce five extraordinary undergraduate students joining the library as paid interns for the 2026-2027 academic year:
- Danica Ayson (major: cognitive science) is working with the Library IT and Communications and External Relations departments to evaluate and update website content for usability and accessibility.
- Hannah Miradi (major: sustainable environmental design) is analyzing and visualizing data through mapping and digital tools with the Scholarly Resources team.
- Joanna Deng (major: economics) is working with DataLab to develop digital content architecture for data science and AI education, research, and outreach.
- Joyce Lee (major: communication and design) is working with the Academic Engagement and Learning department to design a Student Publishing Toolkit to support undergraduate authors.
- Ravreen Kaur (major: political science) is creating metadata to build a Digital Menu Collection as part of the library’s Food & Drink initiatives.
Meaningful Projects, Mentorship and Broad Impact
Made possible by generous donor support, the library intern program empowers undergraduates to lead meaningful projects that enhance library services and collections for the UC Davis academic community.
In addition to their ongoing departmental projects, the interns engage in weekly cohort activities that deepen their learning and broaden their experience. Through mentorship, collaborative learning and reflection, they will develop skills that prepare them for graduate studies, professional careers and future leadership roles.
We look forward to sharing the interns’ progress with you in the months ahead!
