Project Description

Inspired by an encounter with the Counterculture Poster Collection during a class visit to the library’s Archives and Special Collections, Grimes sheds new light on the design and meaning of psychedelic rock posters and their place in the counterculture movement of the 1960s. Grimes analyzed the poster designs, read newspaper articles from the time, and interviewed renowned poster artist Stanley Mouse.
