This collection contains items from the institutional library of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). In 2017, the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) unified as a single network of global professionals dedicated to setting quality standards for the specialty coffee industry. The SCAA was established in 1982, while the SCAE formed in 1998. The resources in this collection illustrate how shared definitions, standards and research agendas emerged across a rapidly expanding global industry. Materials include books, trade journals, cassette tapes, videotapes, educational documents, and early drafts of publications that later became foundational texts for coffee professionals worldwide.
