Undergrads: Apply for the Lang Prize

Win up to $2,000 for a project completed using library services

Applications are now open for the library’s 2026 Lang Prize! The Lang Prize recognizes UC Davis undergraduates who make exceptional use of library resources, services, or expertise for a class project.

If you’ve completed a research project for a class during Spring 2025, Summer 2025, Fall 2025, or Winter 2026 quarters, check out our application process and get started! The application deadline is Monday, March 30.

Awards

First, second and third-place prizes will be awarded in each of these two areas, up to $2,000 (first place):

  • Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
  • Science, Engineering & Mathematics

Eligible Projects

  • Honors theses
  • Research papers
  • Creative works (art, music, video, software program and more)

A bequest from UC Davis Professor Emerita of botany professor Norma J. Lang funds the prize, raising awareness and interest among undergraduate students of the many ways the library can support their academic success.
