Apply by Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023
AggieOpen encourages potential applicants to contact the team (aggieopen@ucdavis.edu) for assistance in project development.
The UC Davis Library is pleased to announce the AggieOpen Fellows Pilot program, which provides funds to teaching faculty and instructors as an incentive to use open educational resources (OER) as alternatives to traditional, commercially published textbooks for undergraduate courses.
Funded by LibreTexts and the UC Davis Library, the Fellows program offers awards of $2,000 to $7,500 to help faculty and instructors adopt or adapt openly licensed, freely accessible course materials for undergraduate courses they teach.
Faculty and instructors may submit an application for this program that outlines how they plan to incorporate existing openly licensed educational resources into their coursework. The deadline to submit a proposal is Sunday, February 26, 2023. Awards will be announced by March 31, 2023.
The program is sponsored by the LibreText Foundation and the UC Davis Library, and is part of the library’s commitment to expanding the availability of openly licensed course materials at minimal cost for the benefit of both UC Davis students locally and higher education globally.
OER materials are free and carry legal permission for open use. They can be shared and adapted freely. More information about open textbooks and the program can be found on our website.
