Pathways to Open Access: new UC Libraries report charts the way forward
Today, UC Libraries released Pathways to Open Access, a report reviewing and summarizing our available options for making good on our collective commitment to the open access publication of scholarship. Pathways, prepared by an intercampus working group and approved by UC’s Council of University Librarians, is designed to help us make informed, careful decisions as we look to undertake next steps that can work at scale to encourage transformative change toward open access.
Consistent with these university-wide efforts, the Davis Library is pursuing a number of experimental and ambitious initiatives to facilitate open access, such as our newly opened TOME Fund for open monograph publication and the Move It Forward project for exploring transitional models for existing scholarly journals.
