Cupcakes and trivia for Peter J. Shields birthday

April 4, 2019 marks what would have been Peter J. Shields 157th birthday. Shields, considered one of the founding fathers of the University Farm (now UC Davis), helped to write the legislation for the creation of the Davis campus. In 1972, the campus honored Peter J. Shields by naming the main library building in his memory.

Special Collections is recognizing his birthday with a pop-up celebration on Thursday April 4 at 1pm in the Shields Library lobby. We’ll have cupcakes, trivia (with prizes), and a life-size cardboard cut-out of Peter J. Shields for selfies.

We hope to see you there!
