Shields Library is closed through January 1. Requests for books, digitization services, and interlibrary loan will be fulfilled after the new year.
Limited Additional Study Space for Finals
Update as of June 3: Due to high demand for study space, the Main Reading Room Plus is now open (two days early!) although, due to social distancing requirements, space remains limited. Please see our Library Hours for the latest.
To support students who remain in Davis and need a place with stable wi-fi (and air conditioning!) to study or take online exams, limited additional space will be opened at Shields Library during Finals Week this quarter.
By opening the Main Reading Room Plus from noon to 8pm on June 5-11, seating capacity will be increased from the 50 seats already available in the 24-Hour Study Room to a total of 205.
How to get in:
Access to the Main Reading Room Plus is through the 24-Hour Study Room entrance on the Quad side of Shields, and is open to current registered students only. Students must swipe their Aggie ID to enter. The rest of Shields Library remains closed at this time.
Be safe
In accordance with local public health orders, please wear a face covering and sit 6 feet away from anyone who does not live with you while studying at the library. Chairs have been spread out to enable appropriate social distancing; for everyone’s safety, we ask that you leave them where they have been placed.
