Transformative Open Access Agreement with Elsevier Goes Live

UC’s transformative open access agreement with Elsevier is now active! Articles by UC corresponding authors that are accepted for publication in an Elsevier journal will receive a 15% discount and a $1,000 subvention by UC libraries on the Article Publishing Charge (APC) for open access publishing. Authors will be asked to cover the remaining APC with research funding. If the author does not have research funds available, the UC libraries will cover the entire APC. (Note that Cell Press and Lancet journals will be folded into the agreement by April 2023.)

Reading access to Elsevier journals has been restored. If you have difficulty accessing an article from off campus, please ensure you are connected to the Library VPN or UCDH VPN Cisco AnyConnect. If you continue to encounter problems, contact us at 530-752-1978 or hslborrow@ucdavis.edu.
