As a Collection Strategist Librarian at the UC Davis Library, Qian develops and manages collections that support the university’s teaching and research priorities. She collaborates with faculty, students, and librarians to ensure resources remain relevant and responsive to evolving academic needs, and she welcomes opportunities to collaborate on projects related to collection development, resource evaluation, and research support.
Prior to joining UC Davis, Qian was an affiliated faculty member and has over twenty years of academic teaching experience. She has organized many workshops, exhibitions, and events to promote active student learning and to support academic success. Her library and information science projects include digital archival projects, information literacy tutorial series, and international exchanges. Qian has a master’s degree in library and information science and a Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations.
