About the Department
Mission Statement: Provide innovative technology frameworks to access, manage, facilitate and inspire creative use of the library’s data in support of the UC Davis research and community goals.
Online Strategy combines technical infrastructure and digital operations (online catalog and digitization) with a publicly engaged tech, design, and outreach team focused on leveraging the library’s expertise to forge broader access to campus research, knowledge, and historical collections. The team applies new technologies that enable innovative uses of collections and data that advance our mission of providing access to knowledge and the scholarly record.

An initiative of the University of California Davis Library, Intertwine offers an interactive look at how people, places, and things connect to each other in critical moments of California Wine history.
Sloan Grant – Historic Wine Prices
A grant project to develop data extraction methodologies from historic wine related documents.
Price the Vintage
A crowdsourcing web application used to help make historic wine catalogs searchable by transcribing the information seen on the pages.
Label This
The Amerine wine label collection provides a meaningful window into the history of both winemaking and winemakers during a pivotal time in the industry. Label This used crowdsourcing to make the collection searchable and accessible to wine lovers everywhere.
