Tara Pozzi

Ph.D. Candidate, Environmental Science and Policy, Graduate Group in Ecology

I attended Dissertation Day and participated in a session where two research librarians discussed the library’s services. After this workshop and receiving feedback on my paper from co-authors, I met with [librarian] Beth Tweedy to develop an additional keyword search and explore other databases like Web of Science and APA PsycINFO. I also used interlibrary loan to access print materials that supported my literature review.”

The Network Structure of Environmental Justice Social Movements

Project Description and Impact

Through interviews with representatives of 21 different environmental justice groups in California’s Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, Pozzi investigates how these organizations form connections and networks to further their goals. Pozzi’s research identifies several factors that motivate these partnerships, including shared priorities, geographic proximity, and opportunities to connect with a broader network.
