Scholarly Impact Service
The Scholarly Impact Service is designed to support, guide and provide training in bibliometrics and research impact analysis at the individual, departmental and institutional levels. The service follows established methodologies and documentation to ensure consistency and rigor.
Examples of support include demonstrating research collaborations, analyzing publishing trends, or mapping university research outputs to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In addition, the service promotes education and advocacy around the use of persistent identifiers, such as ORCID or Scopus ID, which help increase the visibility and discoverability of research.
The service team provides:
- Individual consultations tailored to researchers’ specific needs
- Workshops and presentations on effectively using available tools
- Collaborations with departments, centers or research groups to help showcase the unit’s impact
- Online information including the Scholarly Impact guide and the Scholar Profiles and Identifiers guide
The team is composed of experienced librarians from various library departments, bringing together a broad range of expertise:
- Megan Van Noord (Researcher Services) – Co-lead
- Michael Ladisch (Scholarly Communication) – Co-lead
- Bruce Abbott (Blaisdell Medical Library)
- Emily Atkinson (Researcher Services)
