Kate works closely with graduate students and faculty through outreach, consultation, collection development, instruction and research data services to make full use of the library’s resources, and to deepen collaborative partnerships with researchers across campus. 

She comes from a background in the humanities, completing her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Miami in 2024 with her dissertation “Affective Injustice and Moral Responsibility.” However, she has wide-ranging interests in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. She is bilingual in Spanish and her library and information sciences research focused on information seeking and acquisition in Cuba.
