Introduce library resources to your students

Fill out the form below to request instruction that introduces library resources, services, and research strategies to your students. We typically respond to your request within one business day.

Please submit your instruction request, which includes sharing your syllabus and assignment, at least two weeks prior to the session and preferably before or close to the beginning of the quarter. We may not be able to accommodate requests less than two weeks from the dates provided.

We may request to meet with you before the session to discuss your learning outcomes and goals, and to help us align our instruction with your assignment(s).

Tips for an Effective Class Experience

  • Provide students with their assignment before the library instruction session
  • Provide us with students’ paper topics before the class so that they can be used as examples during the instruction session
  • Provide us with instructions about the types of resources needed to complete the assignment. (For example: books, popular articles and/or peer-reviewed articles, newspaper articles, etc.)

We also offer one-hour general research workshops for students throughout the year at Blaisdell Medical Library and Shields Library. Some required advanced registration; others are drop-in.
