John Deere Tractors: Celebrating 100 Years
Shields Library (Lobby - Left Side of Main Staircase)
August 20, 2018 - October 22, 2018
2018 marks the centennial year that John Deere expanded beyond agricultural implements and officially entered the tractor business. Deere & Company purchased the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Co. in 1918 and the popular Waterloo Boy tractor marked the beginning of John Deere’s tractor production line. The exhibit not only pays tribute to the tractors of John Deere but also the various primary and secondary research material available in Special Collections related to agriculture and technology. Items on display are a variety of agricultural technology collections held in Special Collections.
