Coffee and Tea Pamphlet Collection

Collection Information

Size of the Collection

Nearly 100 pamphlets on subjects related to coffee and tea are currently catalogued.

Other coffee and tea pamphlets catalogued prior to 2025 may be found in Food and Culinary Arts Collection (P-400) and the Noling, A.W. Hurty-Peck Collection of Beverage Literature.

History of this Collection

The UC Davis Library contains one of the world’s largest collections of materials on food, drink, and associated culture. The Coffee and Tea Pamphlet Collection was formed through donations and some purchases to amplify the discovery of rare coffee and tea publications in Archives and Special Collections.

This collection includes a subset of the Russ Kramer Coffee Book and Pamphlet Collection, which Kramer established in 2025 to accelerate the preservation of and access to rare and important publications on coffee.

Overview/Highlights of Collection

This collection of pamphlets on coffee and tea range from the early 19th century to the 21st century, including pamphlets in English, Japanese, French, Spanish and Portuguese. The collection is especially strong in promotional materials, trade manuals, and ephemera.
