The collection contains photographs of 1920s New York when Paul W. Hollingshead was chief photographer for Edward Steichen (1923-1928), and photographs from the 1930s-1960s of life in California, through an artist's lens. It contains original silver gelatin prints, glossies, proofs and glass slides; original New York Institute of Photography workbooks, exercises and notes; and correspondence with Edward Steichen and contemporaries.
