Davis' writings about Haiti including a memorandum with his thoughts on the American occupation of Haiti and his suggestions for future policy, as well as manuscripts on Port Au Prince, and the Citadel and the Sans-Souci Palace. Several of the works also include photographs. Secretary of the American Chamber of Commerce for Haiti, author of Black democracy: the story of Haiti (1928) and Gold Rush days in Nevada City (1948).
