Jo Anne Boorkman

Jo Anne Boorkman joined the UC Davis Library in 1995 as head of public services at Carlson Health Sciences Library (CHSL) and served as head of CHSL from 1988-2008. She also held several administrative positions in the library, including acting assistant university librarian, health sciences (1986-1987), science libraries coordinator (1998), and most recently, interim assistant university librarian for collections (2022). She also held several temporary part-time appointments in the Office of Vice Provost for Academic Personnel (1994-1996 and 2005-2008) and as Emerita on recall (2008-2016), in liaison with the Academic Federation.

Jo Anne continues to be active on campus with the UC Davis Emeriti Association (UCDEA) and the Council of UC Emeriti Associations (CUCEA), and as chair 2022-2024.

Axel Borg

From May 1988 to June 2020 Axel Borg was responsible for building, maintaining and facilitating access to unparalleled food and beverage collections as the library’s distinguished wine and food science bibliographer.

Axel served in several senior leadership positions in the UC Davis Academic Federation and received the James Meyer Distinguished Achievement Award (2011) and the Charles P. Nash Prize (2017) for achievement in, and commitment to promoting shared governance. He was a statewide leader in the University Council – American Federation of Teachers (UC-AFT) representing librarians, served as the Librarian Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) administrator from 2015-2019, and was the chief negotiator for the 2019-2024 MOU.

Daniel Goldstein

Daniel Goldstein was a librarian at UC Davis from 1999 to 2023. He began his career as the subject bibliographer for history, art history and art, and closed it out as an arts, humanities and social sciences librarian in the Researcher Services Department. His publications include articles in the history of science and library studies.

Daryl Morrison

Daryl Morrison was head of Special Collections from 2008-2017. Highlights include bringing in hundreds of research collections; emphasizing the cataloging and description of manuscript collections on the Online Archive of California; and promoting the collections with talks at the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the American Library Association (ALA), Society of California Archivists, as well as the Western History Association and the Sacramento Book Collector’s Club. Establishing and setting up the Michael and Margaret Harrison Collection in the library is another highlight.

Daryl has been active in her community serving on the San Joaquin County Grand Jury and on the board of OSHER Lifelong Learning at the University of the Pacific. 

Adam Siegel

Adam Siegel is a retired languages, literatures, and linguistics bibliographer and subject specialist. He is a writer and translator, most recently the co-author (with Deatra Cohen) of Ashkenazi Herbalism: Rediscovering the Herbal Traditions of Eastern European Jews (North Atlantic Books, 2021) and Woven Roots: Recovering the Healing Plant Traditions of Jews and Their Neighbors in Eastern Europe (North Atlantic Books, 2025).

Michael Winter

Michael Winter is a retired modern languages and literatures bibliographer and subject specialist.
