Computer Use Policy

All library users are expected to follow university policies that govern electronic communication at UC Davis, including university computers and networks.

Use of library computers is governed by the UC Davis Principles of Community, UC policies on licensing and copyright, and the UC Davis Acceptable Use Policy, which governs the use of all electronic communications and media devices at UC Davis.

Whether using a personal or library-owned electronic device:

  • Do not use audio without headphones in order to avoid disruption to other library users.
  • If participating in an online class or meeting, please use Collaboration or Quiet Conversation Zones and be respectful of those around you.

For those using library-owned computers:

  • Library computers are made available on a priority basis to UC Davis students, faculty, and staff.
  • Priority is likewise given to use for university research and instruction.
  • Use is limited to 20 minutes when others are waiting.
  • Logout before you leave to protect your personal information.
